Worked example

Semaglutide mg to units, 5 mg vial + 2 ml

5 mg of Semaglutide in 2 ml of bacteriostatic water = 2.5 mg/ml, so each U-100 unit holds 25 mcg. Example amounts only, not recommendations.

About

Semaglutide and reconstitution

Semaglutide is a peptide that activates the GLP-1 receptor (a GLP-1 receptor agonist).

Research vials of semaglutide are commonly listed in sizes such as 2, 5 and 10 mg.

To reconstitute, the powder is dissolved in a measured volume of bacteriostatic water. The calculator divides the vial's mass by that volume to get the concentration, then converts any amount into milliliters and U-100 syringe units (100 units = 1 ml).

Questions

Semaglutide calculator FAQ

How many units is 500 mcg of Semaglutide?

It depends on how much water you add. In a 5 mg vial mixed with 2 ml of bacteriostatic water, the concentration is 2.5 mg/ml, so 500 mcg is 20 units on a U-100 insulin syringe (0.2 ml). Change the vial or water above to get your exact number.

How much bacteriostatic water should I add to a 5 mg Semaglutide vial?

The math works for any volume. More water lowers the concentration, so each unit holds less and small amounts are easier to measure; less water keeps volumes small. For a 5 mg vial: 1 ml gives 5 mg/ml, so each unit holds 50 mcg; 2 ml gives 2.5 mg/ml, so each unit holds 25 mcg; 3 ml gives 1.67 mg/ml, so each unit holds 16.7 mcg.

How do you convert Semaglutide mg to units?

Divide the vial's mg by the ml of water to get the concentration in mg/ml. Then divide the amount you want by that concentration and multiply by 100 to get units on a U-100 syringe. Example: 5 mg in 2 ml is 2.5 mg/ml, and 500 mcg / 2.5 x 100 = 20 units.

Is this Semaglutide calculator free?

Yes. PepCalculators is free to use with no account. It does arithmetic only, for laboratory research purposes, and is not medical or dosing advice.
