Questions
Syringe units FAQ
How many units are in 1 ml on a U-100 syringe?
100 units. Each unit is 0.01 ml, so 0.1 ml is 10 units and 0.5 ml is 50 units.
How do I convert mg to units?
First find the concentration: vial mg / water ml. Then units = amount in mg / concentration x 100. The calculator above does this for any vial and amount.
Which syringe size should I use for small amounts?
Smaller syringes have finer markings. A 0.3 ml (30 unit) syringe is often marked every half unit, a 0.5 ml syringe every unit, and a 1 ml syringe every 2 units. The calculator warns you when a result falls between marks.
What is the draw volume?
The draw volume is the amount of liquid in ml that contains the amount you want. Units on a U-100 syringe are the draw volume x 100.
